When We Are Closed
Extended Access:
At the Murree Medical Centre we have teamed with other Practices in the area to provide an extended Access service for our patients.
WEEK DAYS
The service runs:
Monday to Friday - 6.30pm to 7:50pm
OVER THE WEEKEND
Saturday - 9.00am to 5:50pm
Sunday - 9:00am to 1:50pm
Should you wish to use this facility you will be offered appointments but not here at the Murree Medical Centre, but in other locations across Billericay and Basildon.
If the times suit you, you may request an appointment for the evening or weekend in advance. At other times, when the surgery is at capacity, we may only be able to offer you an appointment at one of these locations.
Outside of the information provided above:
111
Access to 'out-of-hours' cover overnight, at weekends and on Bank Holidays outside of extended hours is now provided by NHS 111
The telephone number to dial is 111
Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
Please be ready to give the name, address and phone number of the patient and full details of the problem.
You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it's not a life-threatening situation.
Call 111 if:
- You need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency
- You think you need to go to A+E or need another NHS urgent care service
- You don't know who to call or your GP surgery is closed
- You need health information or reassurance about what to do next
The NHS 111 Service is available for health advice 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
For less urgent health needs, contact your GP (when open) or local pharmacist in the usual way.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999:
- severe, persistent chest pains
- shortness of breath
- loss of consciousness
- stroke
- uncontrollable, severe bleeding
all these conditions constitute an emergency.
